The draft programmes of study for the 2014 National Curriculum have been published online.

The Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, has announced the publication of draft programmes of study for all Key Stage 1 and 2 school subjects.

A consultation phase on reform of the primary National Curriculum is currently in progress and is scheduled to end on 16 April 2013. Once revised and finalised, the programmes of study will form the basis of teaching from September 2014 onwards.

Mr Gove previously announced that teachers would receive copies of the final National Curriculum during autumn term 2013, to allow a whole year for preparation for first teaching in 2014. The National Curriculum is statutory in all maintained schools.
