With its glow-in-the-dark award ceremony and body painted ballet, the World Body-painting Festival is quite a bit more involved than the face painting you find down at your summer fete. With participants decorated as anything from cubist sculptures to Lord of the Rings tree people, really, anything goes. The contest draws crowds of 20,000 or more, with spectators arriving from all over the world. There’s even body-painted bungee jumping – for those brave enough.
