Free seizure diary for children with epilepsy

NCYPE seizure diary cover

A great new diary has been launched by the National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE) to help children with epilepsy keep a record of their seizures.

The diary, designed primarily for children aged five to 10 has illustrations donated by over 50 famous names including Lauren Child, Aardman Animations and Axel Scheffler, and a cover designed by Nick Sharratt. With space for recording seizures in a fun way, it will help provide vital information to help doctors and neurologists diagnose and manage the child’s epilepsy.

The idea for the diary came from a parent who attended one of the NCYPE’s conferences in 2008 and spotted a gap in the market. Support from sanofi-aventis means that the diary is now available free by calling 01342 832243 ext. 296 or by emailing info@ncype.org.uk

NCYPE Childhood Epilepsy Information Service Manager, Gill Gallagher said: “We wanted something a child could take to school and which would look and feel like an ordinary diary – we’re delighted with the amazing support we’ve had from children’s authors and illustrators.”
