World Theatre Day takes place on 27 March, giving us all an opportunity to celebrate the fun, entertainment and communication that drama offers. In 2010, it falls on a Saturday, but there is no reason why we shouldn’t celebrate it in schools the day or week before. This article suggests inspirational and fun activities for children in Key Stages 1 and 2. Although these are differentiated to suit particular age groups, the beauty of many drama activities and techniques is that they can easily be adapted for different levels.
