Giving writing clues
When I was at primary school I knew that Friday morning was story-writing time – absolute torture! The very idea of being creative to order seemed crazy to me for many years.
But, as a writer, I now realise that this is the way it is. I have no choice but to sit down and start writing. Writing a story, or any other piece of work, just won’t happen unless I set aside time to do it. As teachers, we have to do the same for our children – we must give them enough time to be able to write.
