Use the topic of time as the basis for some inspiring literacy activities
Topic of the month
Throughout January we’ll be providing engaging literacy, numeracy and science activities – all themed around time. Be sure to check back each week to see what’s new.
Remember, two sets of activities are provided for each subject – one suitable for KS1 and one for KS2. Take a look at our KS1 literacy ideas for time.
Kronos, the god of time
The ‘Myths and Legends’ genre is a great one to explore with children. To link this in with the topic of time, why not use your ICT lesson to research Greek myths and gather information about Kronos, the god of time? Once your children have a solid understanding of Kronos, and they are familiar with the structure of a myth, set them the challenge of writing a story involving him.
