This month’s theme for the 2008 National Year of Reading focuses on holiday reading and what better book to link this to than Mr Bear’s Holiday by Debi Gliori (Orchard Books)

Mr Bear's Holiday

Mr Bear’s Holiday

When Small Bear receives a holiday postcard from his friends, he asks his parents whether they can all go on holiday. Mr Bear has a camping holiday in mind, and the family set about gathering together everything necessary for their adventure.

Unfortunately, their preparations are not quite thorough enough – things go wrong and tempers become frayed.

Finally, when a mystery beast attacks their tent, they decide they have had enough. The family rush home and realise they then need another holiday to recover!
