Find out how children are valued and celebrated in different countries across the world

Universal Children's Day

What is Children’s Day?

Throughout the world, different countries and communities celebrate children, their place and value in society, their lives, rights, hopes and dreams. In many cases this is related particularly to the specific country’s identity, history and culture. At a time when childhood can be eroded by responsibilities, high expectations and pressures to grow and achieve, for many this is a time to focus on the delights of childhood, its importance in the healthy development of an individual and the need for everyone to be and feel valued.
