Teaching drama scares the life out of many people (numeracy does the same for me, but that’s another story…). If you’re in a position where you’re under pressure to either start a drama group after school or to develop school drama in some way, this article could be just the thing you need.

In 2002, I had no experience of running a group and had a list of unanswered questions on where to begin. Upstage Drama Group was the end product; we have made some mistakes but also lots of progress.
