The children’s heads will be full of Christmas expectations now, so why not take advantage of this exciting time outdoors?

Christmas present

Hunt the presents

Wrap some pretend presents in bubble wrap, tied with brightly-coloured ribbon, and hide them in the outdoor area. Work with a small group of children taking turns to find them. Help the children in their search using gestures and directional language such as ‘go straight on, to your left a bit, go to the right’. Tell the children that when they find the present, they can unwrap it. At the end of the session, ask the children to rewrap the presents for the next group.
