Need some ideas to get pulses racing? Emma Williams shows you how to take a walk on the wild side
Does the word ‘adventure’ conjure up images of rock climbing, white-water rafting and parachuting? Pause for a moment and imagine the way an activity is performed. Adventure exists when there is engagement – and engagement comes from providing children with experiences that are unique and exciting.
In light of the new Out and About package, launched in October 2008, educational resources supplier NES Arnold teamed up with All Souls’ RC Primary School in Salford to put these words into action through a series of imaginative activities.
Wizards and rocks warm up
Prepare to get those little hearts pumping. As warming up is a crucial part of every type of exercise, it needs to be engaging and fun for children so that injuries are prevented and heart rates are increased. This is a magical way to get children ready for action! Don’t forget, you can also use this activity as a warming-down session.
