This fun, illustrated resource poses light and dark-themed questions and challenges children to work out the correct answers. The Poster and Activity sheets, ‘Why?’: Science – Light and dark’ are also available.

Our new science series poses themed questions that can be turned into scientific investigations. It aims to encourage children to think creatively about how things work. Each month, we’ll feature six questions – each with three plausible answers (correct answers are shown here in bold). The children must decide which answer is correct by first predicting, researching and then answering each one based on their findings. A linked interactive resource (available in full exclusively to subscribers) will be available each month posing the same six themed questions that will allow children to respond electronically.

This month’s focus is light and dark, with opportunities to make and test predictions, draw conclusions and carry out further research.
