Father’s Day is the perfect time for the children to tell their dads or a special person how much they love them

Personal, social and emotional development

Be sensitive to individual circumstances. Talk about the reasons why the children’s dads or someone special in their lives deserve a medal. Provide the children with discs of card and a wide range of decorative materials, shiny paper and felt-tipped pens or paints. Invite the children to design a dazzling medal for their Dad or special person to wear proudly on Father’s Day. Attach a safety pin to the back of the medal so that it can be worn as a badge, or help the children to hang the medal from a long length of braid so that it can be worn around the neck, like a medallion.
