The idea that we should ‘open our eyes’ and be aware of what is going on around us is not a new one (Isaiah 60: 4) and can be taken both literally and metaphorically. We want children to use their senses to be aware of and appreciate the world around them, but we would also wish them to be open emotionally and spiritually.

Objectives

SEAL: Good to be me.

PSHE: 2e. To realise that people and other living things have needs and that they have responsibilities to meet them; 3a. To make simple choices that improve their health and well-being; 3g. To know basic road safety; 4c. To recognise and respect the differences and similarities between people.
