Year 2 includes two sample lessons linked to the 100 Lessons Music Planning Guide. ‘Playing rhythm patterns’ links directly to Year 2, Autumn 1. Children are asked to perform music with a steady pulse and a correct number of beats. They also compose and notate simple rhythm patterns. In ‘Working with a graphic notation’, children perform from notation that indicates long and short rhythms. This lesson links directly to work in Year 2, Spring 2.
