Year 4 includes two sample lessons linked to the 100 Lessons Music Planning Guide. ‘Working with chants’ links directly to Year 4, Autumn 1. Children are asked to maintain a rhythmic or melodic ostinato against one or more contrasting parts. In ‘Working with layers of sound’, children are asked to compose and perform a piece with more than one layer. This lesson links directly to work in Year 4, Spring 1.
