Teachers’ notes: Read the poem out loud, establishing that it asks a question in each verse. Look for the repetition, then divide the class into two groups, one asking questions and the other answering. Using the poem as a pattern, substitute new ideas, for example, Who lives in the stable? and so on. You could also make a four-page zigzag book with opening flaps. Draw different ‘homes’ on each flap, asking the question, Who lives here? and then draw the appropriate animal or insect underneath with a speech bubble, saying, This is my home!
